I had no idea being a girl from the north when I arrived in the south in 2006 why seeing the word PLANTATION plastered on housing sub divisions and street names bothered me so. In the back of my mind I was saying "don't these people know what happened on plantations"! I concluded I was overacting because this word didn't seem to bother others. Well fast forward 10+ years I would learn why that word bothered me so, we all know the story of George Floyd and so many others who lost their lives due to the ugliness of racism. In short PLANTATION NATION, The Inspiration YOU Need to Break free is an inspirational story about my journey of being lead to what I call the modern day plantation. Astonishing, the strong hold of racism that still exist today, 400 years after Emancipation Proclamation.
It is my hope that my story will encourage you to triumph over the strong hold of racism and go from "Po" to Powerful and do those things that the Divine has planted in your mind, just like he did mine!
